Jack Dorsey reveals the situation of Twitter which was about to shut down during the farmer protest in India after increasing the pressure to comply with the rules and restrictions imposed on the global social platform.

Such accusations were made by the Ex CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey against the Indian Government in which the platform faced a threat to be shut down if they will not comply with the government’s requests to take down certain posts from its platform.

In an interview with YouTube, Jack Dorsey said “It manifests in ways such as: ‘We will shut Twitter down in India,’ as it was a large market for us; ‘we will raid the homes of your employees,’ also what they did in actual; this is the real India, a democratic country,” Jack Dorsey revealed in an interview which is being circulated globally.

“No one went jail nor was Twitter ‘shut down’. Dorsey’s Twitter regime had a problem accepting the sovereignty of Indian laws,” stated in a post on Twitter.

In response, the top-ranking officials in PM Modi’s government, Deputy Minister for Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar made a comment against such allegations calling them an “outright lie.”

Indian government under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi often criticized the global tech giant like Google, Facebook, and Twitter for not dealing with the mal content posts and text posted on the social media platforms, which are showing the nature of “anti-India” and not complying with the Indian rules.

Former Twitter’s CEO also told to face similar threatening situations in some other countries like Turkey and Nigeria, which put restrictions on the platform in their nations at different points and it has been passed over the years to lift those bans.

Elon Musk purchased Twitter last year for a $44 billion (Rs. 3,62,495) deal. 

Against the platform, Indian Minister Chandrashekar said Twitter under the leadership of Dorsey and his team members again and again violated Indian laws. He did not mention the name of Elon Musk but he added that the portal had been in compliance since June 2022.
